Difficulties with your call

Check below for some possible solutions.

TTY calls

Occasionally your call may be cut off, your voice may not be heard, or words on a TTY may become jumbled.  These are technical faults.

When jumbling occurs on your TTY you can sometimes fix it by pressing the space bar twice.

If the problem still occurs, check for other causes. Jumbling can be caused by:

  • background noises such as television, planes flying overhead or children yelling, or

  • closeness to electrical equipment.

You can check your line by using your TTY from a neighbour's phone line. If the call is OK then your line is likely to be the problem - you should contact your phone company.

You can check your TTY by directly phoning another TTY user. If you still can't make the call then you should contact your TTY supplier to get your TTY checked.
