  •  ‘click through’ from contacts stored on your device
  • use your device’s GPS to insert your location into a call
  • protect the information in your Services and Profile with a security passcode
  • get better notification (for incoming internet relay calls).

Profile

Your Profile allows you to enter a wide range of personal information that can be inserted field by field as text into an internet relay or Speak and Listen call.

The information in your Profile is protected by a security passcode.

Create your Profile

  • Tap ‘More’ in the blue bar at the bottom of the app and select ‘Profile’.
  • Fill in as many of the fields that you feel you might want to include in any future call.
  • The ‘Caller notes’ field is for special messages that you might want to send to the relay officer about any issues you have in managing your call. Caller notes will not be relayed to the other person on your call unless you specifically ask the relay officer to do so.
  • Tap ‘Save’.

You can edit or delete information in the Profile fields at any time. You will always be prompted to enter your passcode.

Using Profile information during a call

  • Tap the Profile icon at the top left of the call page after the call has started. You will be prompted to enter your passcode then you will see a pop-up of the Profile fields that you have filled in.
  • Tap the field you want to insert into the call, then tap ‘Select’.
  • You can add extra text if needed. Tap ‘Send’.

  • You have the option of sending the ‘Caller notes’ which you have created in your Profile.

You can also include as many fields as you wish from your Profile into any of the Services fields. You just click ‘Show Profile info’ when the dialogue box comes up.

  • Tap ‘Save’.
  • To edit or delete any of your saved Services, tap on ‘Edit’ in the top menu (for Apple devices), or tap and hold on the saved service then select ‘Edit’ (Android devices).

Quick phrases allow you to create messages which you can insert into internet relay and Speak and Listen calls after you have started the call. The information in Quick phrases is not protected by the app’s security passcode, so make sure you don’t include any confidential information in these phrases.

Create a Quick phrase

  • Create your message then tap ‘Save’.
  • To edit or delete any of your saved Quick phrases, tap on ‘Edit’ in the top menu (for Apple devices), or tap and hold on the saved service then select ‘Edit’ (Android devices).

Using Quick phrases during a call

Just tap the ‘Quick phrases’ icon at the top of the call page after you have started your call. Your phrases will appear in a dialogue box. Tap the one you want, then tap ‘Use Quick phrase’. The chosen phrase will be inserted as text into your call and read to the person you are calling.

Just tap ‘Contacts’ in the top right of the phone number screen, find the contact in your device, and tap the number. The number will then be inserted into the number field.

Providing your location

The app lets you provide your location during a call by using the GPS function on your device.

First make sure you have activated ‘Location services’ in your device’s Settings.

During a call, tap the location icon on the top right of the call screen.

If the map that appears on screen doesn’t have your location correct, you can:

  • tap ‘Drag pin’ (for Apple devices) and drag the pin to the correct spot on the map, or hold down the pin and then drag it (Android devices)
  • tap ‘Search’ and enter your address into the pop-up box that appears.

Once you are satisfied your location is correct then tap ‘Done’.

The address will then be automatically inserted into your call as text to be read to the other person.

Security passcode

pic of passcode screen

You will be prompted to create a four-number passcode the first time you create a Service or your Profile.

The passcode protects the information in Services and Profile from being accessed without your permission.

Once you have created your passcode you cannot delete it.

If you forget your passcode you will need to reinstall the app and you will lose your saved data.

So make sure you write down your passcode and keep it in a safe place.

Registration

Anyone can make calls through internet relay or captioned relay. However if you want to receive internet relay or captioned relay calls you will need to register.

The same registration applies to both internet relay and captioned relay. Once you have registered for one you are registered for both.
