A compelling modern love story that promotes internet relay to young deaf Australians.
The film is a window into the world of deafness and tells the love story between two university students, one deaf, the other hearing, struggling to understand their different worlds and trying to build their relationship.
Staring Matt Greenlaw and young deaf actress Bethany Robinson, Quiet Signs of Love was written and directed by Sydney film maker Yannis Nikolakolpoulos of Ikonfilm.
The 16-minute two-part film shows the important role the National Relay Service plays in the lives of thousands of Australians.
The film won the award for Best Hearing Short at the First Rome Deaf Film Festival, Cinedeaf in 2012 and was nominated in the drama category of the international Webby Awards.

Diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2008, Zora had to come to terms with the loss of her voice.
As a teacher that was hard. She has used a range of tools, but the National Relay Service has been a key one. It allows her to deal directly by phone with businesses and government bodies and also means she can have good phone conversations with her elderly mum.
