Here are a range of things to help you get going with relay calls.

Send us your questions

You can contact our Helpdesk by phone, SMS, email or fax. Our Helpdesk staff will answer your questions or refer you on to other team members who can assist.

Ask for free training

We can provide free training anywhere in Australia for people who need help to get started with the NRS.

In most cases this can be face-to-face training, but in more remote areas we might work with you over the phone, or via video communication to get you started.

Request a free info session

Ask about a visit from the NRS information and education team to run a free information session for your group - we have team members in every state.

The Helpdesk will put you in touch with your local NRS team member.

Advice on the technology that suits you

Options for specialised devices for people with complex needs can seem confusing when you start to look at them. Start by discussing what you need with your occupational therapist, speech pathologist or other support staff.

You may need to get in touch with experts in your local area to obtain particular specialised technology devices. Here are some of the services available:

The National Relay Service really makes a huge difference to my lifestyle. If someone who is non-verbal was thinking of using the relay service – I’d say go for it."
